JRPLA MIDDLE SCHOOL

Building Strong Foundations for Bright Futures

About

JRPLA Middle School

James & Rosemary Phalen Leadership Academy (JRPLA) is part of the nationally recognized Phalen Leadership Academies network, a family of schools committed to providing every child with a high-quality, joyful, and personalized education. At JRPLA, our middle school scholars learn in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where teachers know each child by name and help them reach their full potential, academically, socially, and emotionally.

We believe middle school is a defining time in a scholar’s life — a bridge between childhood curiosity and high school independence. Our program is designed to build confidence, leadership, and academic excellence, preparing every scholar to thrive in high school, college, and future careers.

The History of JRP Middle School

James & Rosemary Phalen Leadership Academy Middle School was founded as part of Earl Martin Phalen’s vision to close the opportunity gap and ensure that every child—regardless of zip code—has access to a high-quality, loving education. As part of the Phalen Leadership Academies network, JRPLA carries forward that legacy by nurturing scholars through personalized instruction, meaningful relationships, and real-world learning experiences.

Our middle school reflects Mr. Phalen’s belief that when children are surrounded by caring adults, rigorous academics, and opportunities to lead, they will rise to greatness. Every classroom, club, and career pathway at JRPLA echoes this mission, empowering scholars to discover their gifts, build character, and prepare for bright futures.
